Please help our
family. On April 1st, 2001
my wife, Missy, and I, Mike, were
married. We bought a small
home and
adopted two beautiful dogs from the
local homeless shelter. We both worked
full-time, Missy as a data-entry clerk
and I as a sales clerk at a local bank
branch.
Over the course of our marriage it
seemed apparent that Missy was having
difficulties with depression and anxiety
which caused her to have ongoing
difficulties at work. She sought the
help of a local therapist and
psychiatrist in January of 2004.
On March 8th, 2006 she was
institutionalized at the local inpatient
mental health hospital. Over the course
of the next year she was hospitalized 10
different times at three different
hospitals. To date Missy has tried 28
different psychiatric medications and
Electro-Convulsive Therapy (ECT) with no
relief in sight. Doctors have not been
able to determine whether she suffers
from major depressive disorder or
bipolar depression.
The depression has since stripped her of
all interest and pursuits in life.
Missy has since lost her job due to her
illness.
When we bought our home we had always
counted on us both being able to work to
be able to pay our bills. With only my
income now we have had to liquidate all
of our savings accounts including our
meager retirement accounts. We are still
unable to keep the creditors at bay.
The cost of hospitalization,
medications, weekly therapist visits,
and psychiatrist visits on top of our
existing mortgage, car insurance, food,
etc. have caused us to reach out for
help to anyone who would be willing to
offer a donation so that we can continue
to struggle through this dark time.
